THE SCEÁL*

BHÍOS stems from an accumulation of things: an interest in interior design, a grá* of Ireland and a passion for new experiences.

Throughout the pandemic, seeing the world and experiencing what it has to offer were the luxuries some people missed the most. Not being able to travel led us to remembering all of the great áiteanna* we were lucky enough to visit in ‘normal’ times.

When initial lockdowns were lifted - being limited in where we could go, gave us the opportunity to explore this beautiful tír * that we proudly call home. It didn’t take long for us to be in awe of the sights that we had on our doorstep.

This sparked the idea for BHÍOS – We wanted to know where we had been, but also know where we need to go next.

Even on this small island of ours, there is so much to see & do.

By creating these designs, we hope to encourage & inspire people to go and do the things they always wanted to do & to visit the places they always dreamed of.

"An té a bhíónn siúlach, bíonn scéalach" *

I WAS

along with creating meaningful designs, we'd also love to spread a small bit of our beautiful language.

If you can pronounce our ainm*

THE AINM*

THE LOGO

The lines that frame BHÍOS represent the checkbox that we hope to fill. Every time you tick off a place on your list, you are essentially saying - "I was there!" - BHÍOS ann!*

THE PRINTS
Using museum quality printing method - Giclee; All of our designs are printed on 310gsm Textured Fine Art Paper.
THE DESIGN
The reason behind the minimalist design is to allow you to connect with your piece. The numbers, pallet colours & font are purposely subtle so that it doesn't attract the attention away from what your piece is - a reminder of old stories and a plan to create more.

At a glance, or from a distance it is an outline of a country, but you will know the meaning behind each tick you have been lucky enough to stamp.
